Summary/Objective

The position of Project Safety Manager reports directly to the appropriate Sr Safety Manger and indirectly to the Project Manager. The position calls for candidates with passion and drive. This is an upper level project-based role that requires a high level of commitment and dedication to the health and well-being of others. The ideal candidate will have education, training, excellent communication skills and experience commensurate with the desired position. This includes experience with training, injury management, program development, personnel management, leadership development, site management, supervisor engagement, client interaction, management counsel, injury care, conflict resolution and other HSE experience that may not be listed here. The Project Safety Manager is responsible for the overall administration of PARIC’s safety guidelines for a specific job site/sites. This individual is to be a safety leader on the project, and serve as the point person for all things safety for the specific job site/sites.

Key Aims and Objectives

  1. To actively seek and address the gaps between good safety performance and great safety performance;
  2. Positively influence all stakeholders by action, belief and conviction in the Paric’s safety management system; and
  3. Improve performance by demanding safety excellence.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervision of the project safety team may be required.

Work Environment

This job operates on active construction sites as well as professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Active construction site conditions may require a person working in extreme temperature conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although hours may vary from time to time in order to support the needs of project teams.

Travel

Regular local travel by car is expected on average 3 – 5 times per week for this position. Assignments may include remote projects, requiring either relocation or long-term travel by car and/or air.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Prefer a minimum of  5 – 10 years of experience in construction HSE management, with at least four years in an HSE supervisory or management role
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or closely related field.
  3. Capable of providing HSE oversight for large projects (>250 employees)
  4. 30-hour OSHA certification
  1. CPR /First Aid/AED trained.
  2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Ability to use the BIM Field safety management system
  2. Additional leadership or HSE based continuing education
  3. Nationally recognized certifications (CSP, ASP, SMS, CHST, or OHST) or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field
  4. OSHA 500
