TRI-COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE – LANCASTER
Tri-County Electric Cooperative was challenged with an aging, multi-building facility located in the center of the City of Lancaster. The new 29,925 sq. ft. facility on 15 acres improves access to the facility for the members as well as the line crews by being located directly on Highway 63. Operational efficiencies were be improved by locating all of the functions of the facility at a single location compared to being previously located in four separate buildings divided by city streets. Meeting the needs of the facility at the best value for the members was a main goal of the design. A pre-engineered metal building system is utilized for reducing the initial cost of the building structure while a ground source mechanical system will reduce operational cost for the life of the building by reducing the energy use for heating and cooling the building.
